The maps provide a detailed comparison of the structural and functional changes that have taken place at Liverpool John Moore’s University between 2010 and the present day.
Overall, the campus has undergone major modernization with new facilities and upgraded academic areas; however, several original buildings and road systems have been removed to create a more organized and pedestrian-friendly layout.
In 2010, the northern area of the university featured three separate academic buildings – Biology, Physics and Chemistry – arranged around an internal road. This road connected the library in the northwest and the car park in the southwest, while the admin building stood in the southeast with direct access to the central road network. At that time, the campus layout was relatively simple and lacked dedicated student-oriented amenities.
By the present day, significant redevelopment has transformed the entire layout. The three science buildings have been merged into a single Science complex, and the former library has been expanded into a Library & IT Suite. The old car park has been replaced with a Lecture Theatre, and a café has been added nearby. Furthermore, the internal road has been converted into a footpath, creating safer pedestrian movement. The western side now accommodates a bus station, offering improved transport options.
