The bar chart illustrates information about the amount of wasted call minutes, in billions, including three types of calls in Australia, over a seven-year period between 1998 and 2005.
Overall, it can be seen that local calls had the highest time spent, mobile calls a bit less. On the whole, national and international calls were equal each year.
In terms of local calls, in 1998, the amount began at 60 billion minutes. After that, until 2002, each year increased by around 5 billion minutes. In 2002, the amount of time spent reached approximately 75 billion minutes. However, the next three years decreased by around 3–4 billion minutes. In 2005 and 1998, the time spent was alike.
On the other hand, national and international mobile calls showed markedly growth each year. Firstly, in 1998, the amounts were 30 and 5 billion minutes, respectively. National and international calls rose over the seven years by around 3 billion minutes, so that in 2005, wasted calls totaled approximately 55 billion minutes and mobile calls approximately 35 billion minutes.
