It is clear that the minutes of calls recorded on local – fixed line was highest throughout the years. By contrast, the number of mobile calls was lowest in 1995 but has increased overtime.
In terms of local – fixed line calls, in 1995, the time of telephone calls was 72 billion minutes, but this figure has rose to 90 billion in 1998. From 1998 to 1999, the call duration was stable. But the number has experienced a slight decline in 2002, from 90 billion to 72 billion minutes in the UK.
On the other hand, the total number of minutes of national and international calls was 38 billion, which has surged gradually by 22 billion in 2002, reaching 60 billion. Alternatively, calling duration by mobiles fewer in 1995 than that of in 1999, at 3 billion and 15 billion minutes, respectively. Moreover, between 1999 and 2002, the time span of mobile calls in the UK had a dramatic growth from 15 billion to 45 billion minutes.
