Overall, the preponderance of volunteers was from Educational organizations, albeit with a decline. Sports organizations’ volunteers registered a major increase between 2008 and 2014, attaining the second spot, while volunteers from art, health care, environmental, and other organizations saw less pronounced variations.
Almost a quarter of the total participants were educational volunteers, but by 2014 the proportion of educational volunteers was left behind. Instead, the percentage of volunteers from sports organizations in 2014 was 25%, up 10% from 2008.
The section of Environmental was the second spot in 2008, but by 2014 the percentage of volunteers overtook others, attaining the first spot among more than six sections, and the art and other organization’s proportion decreased by six percent equally. As for healthcare volunteers, the proportion almost remained unchanged.
