The pie chart and bar chart show information about how water was consumed and used in Australia in the year 2004.
Overall, it can be seen that the residential was the biggest sector of water consumption. Also, people used water for garden and bathroom more than other purposes in their houses.
In the pie chart, the residential sector accounted for 70% of the total water, which is the highest figure. This amount was much higher than industrial water use, which was only 11%. Business sector was 10%, slightly less than industrial. Finally, government and other sectors has very small percentages, at 6% and 3% respectively. If we add them together, they were less than 10%.
Looking at the bar chart, the percentage for garden was 28%, higher a bit than the bathroom at 27%. The third place was washing clothes with 20%. In contrast, toilet and kitchen used less water, with 15% and 10%. It is interest that water for garden was three times more than the kitchen.
