The table gives information about the number of people who migrated and worked temporarily in four countries namely Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and United States in 2003 and 2006 and per 1000 migrants in 2006.
Overall, the most number of migrant workers were in the United States while the least number of people were in New Zealand.
The highest number of transient workers were recorded at 577,000 and 678,000 in the United States while the lowest number of foreign workers at 65,000 and 87,000 lived in New Zealand in both years respectively. In contrast, the number of workers per 1000 people were the highest in New Zealand and the lowest were in the United States in 2006.
Furthermore, guest workers were doubled in the United Kingdom between the time period 2003 and 2006 while the numbers increased almost the same at 100,000 in Australia and the United States. On the other hand, the number of transient workers increased slightly from 65,000 to 87,000 in New Zealand. In comparison, workers per 1000 people were nearly twice as high at 21.1 in New Zealand as that of Australia at 10.7 while the values were 4.4 in the United Kingdom and at 2.3 in the United States.
