The line graph illustrates the recycling rates for four materials from 1982-2010. The selected materials are mainly, paper& cardboards, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics.
From 1982- 1986 only paper , cardboards and glass containers were recycled. The paper& cardboard had a parabolic rate whereas, glass containers had a consistent downfall in recycling rates. In 1994 both categories a opposite trends in rates, i.e , glass containers had a positive correlation with rates and paper& cardboard had a negative correlation with recycling rates.
Furthermore, during 1986 , aluminium can made debut in recycling industry followed by plastics in 1990. In case of aluminium , the recycling rate was at a stagnant growth. The pivotal phase was in 2002 and later followed the similar growth till 2010. While plastics had a steady plateau with minimal peaks till 2010.
Overall, the paper & cardboard had highest recycling rate despite of one downfall. The chronology of recycling rate in 2010 are , paper& cardboards, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics
