In 1976, approximately 70% of male had driving licenses, compared to around 30% of female. By 1996, the figures of men had risen to about78%, while the proportion for women exceeded 50%. After that, the percentage of men remained stable for several years. However, the figure of women continued to increase, reaching 60% in 2006.
The second bar chart illustrates a shorter period, from 1996 to 2006. In additions, evidencing a steady decrease among drivers aged 17 to 20. In 1996, 50% of males were driving, whereas only 30% of females did the same. By 2006, both genders witnessed a decline, with 45% of male and 20 females.
