The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of males and females with higher education qualifications in 5 areas in 2001.
As can be observed, the data of males with university degrees in the United States,Britain and Germany experienced a similar percentage. What also stands out from the chart is that Switzerland heads the list with the highest rates of males and with college qualifications which is the same as its females in Germany.
One of the most striking features is that the percentage of males who have higher education degrees in the United States, British and Germany show exactly the same rate with 35%. Looking at the figure of females with college qualifications in Germany and its males in Switzerland, the former reach the highest point with 45% and the latter also reach the peak with the same proportion. One more noteworthy feature is that Japan ranks last in terms of degree holders with 25% of women and 30% of men, respectively. Compared to Britain, the number of university graduates in Japan is just 5% lower than in Britain, only 5%.
