Overall, General Motor manufacturer saw a sharp decline in their average hours throughout the period. By contrast, the amount of time spending by Ford grew dramatically.
In 1998, General Motor was the factory that needed the largest amount of time per vehicle at about 32 hours while the figure for Ford was 28 hours. However, about 2 years later, Ford overtook General Motor and became the slowest factory in producing vehicles with its figure grew dramatically to a peak of almost 32 hours spent on each product then declined again after.By contrast, General motor experienced only a trend of decrease the its bottom in 2005 at about 22 hours.
The time taken by Toyato and Honda by far less than Genral Motor and Ford. Their consumed time for production fluctuated and both reached the peak at only 24 hours per vehicle in 2002 and then both reduced slightly though the rest of the period.
