The line graph compares the number of monthy commuters traveling by 4 different types of transportation including subway, bus, tram ; and bike share over a period of 50 years from 1980 to 2030. As an overall trend it can be clearly seen that subway had the highest level of commuters over the time while bike share had the lowest number of commuters and was not being used until 2000.
In terms of subway, the figure had the lowest level of 2.5 millions in the beginning of the period and this number stayed steady for the next 10 years from 1980 to 1990 after which there was a singinificant rise of 1 million reaching 3.5 millions in 2010 and it is expected to hit the peak of 4.5 millions by 2030.
Regarding Tram, the number of rideship was slightly under 0.5 millions in 1980. Then ; it enhanced gradually by approximately 1 million amounting to just under 1.5 millions in 2010 following that it is anticipated to surge noticeably reaching 2 millions in 2030.
As for bus commuters the number was in the area of 1.5 millions on 1980 then there was a minimal decrease dropping to just over 1 million in 2020 and its predicted to show this downward trend reaching to slightly over 0.5 million in 2030.
According to bike share, it is a new way of transportation and people started using that in the year 2000 and it is forcasted to climb gradually reaching the highest level of 0.5 million in the year 2030.
