The line graph provides data on the proportion of Australians who exported to four different countries between 1990 and 2012. Looking at the illustrations, it is clear that the number of citizens exporting to Japan reached the highest point in all years. In contrast, exports to India followed a fluctuating trend, while exports to China saw a significant and consistent increase. Notably, the figures of China showed a dramatic change from all others.
At the beginning of the period, Australians who exported to Japan dominated the chart at approximately 25%, which was double the figure of the United States. The percentage of Australians choosing China ranked third at about, while the figure for India came in last, following closely with 2%. Between 2007 and 2010, the percentage of Australian individuals going to China witnessed a considerable growth, reaching a peak at 20%, surpassing the figure of Japan, which remained dominant in the starting level before declining to 18%. The rate of the US at this time experienced a gradual drop of about 5% in 2010. In contrast, it could be seen that the percentage of India showed an upward trend, with 8%.
In the last year, China exhibited Australia’s largest export market, accounting for approximately 28 % of the total, overtaking Japan, which received around 17 %. Exports to the United States stood at about 7 %, while exports to India were the lowest, roughly 5 % of Australia’s exports.
