Overall, a significant portion of the expenses were spent in Food and other goods and services, with health care requiring minimal budget in both of these countries.
Housing was the biggest area to spend in Malaysia, which used 34% of the overall expenditure, while food and other goods and services also used large portion of the expenses at 27% and 26% respectively. However, transport utilized relatively small portion of the budget at 10%, and the lowest expenditure was in the area of health care.
In Japan, goods and services comprised of 29% of the expenses and similar proportion was used for housing(21%) and food(24%). Additionally, transport also was a big sector to spend money, which covered 20% of the total. Health care also was the least costly area in Japan, which accounted for 6% of total expenditure.
