The line chart provides information of the amount of time spent on manufacturing a means of transport by four different US-based car producers from 1998 to 2002.

It can be clearly seen that there was a downward trend in the amount of time used to make a vehicle by Nissan, General Motors, and Dalmler Chrysier ,while the opposite was true for Ford.Notably, from 1999 onwards,the figure for Dalmler Chrysier was the highest .

At over 36%,the amount of time taken to produce a vehicle by Nissan was over two times higher,compared with only about 25% for Ford.Over the next three years, the figure for Nissan decreased significantly to under 22% in the last year of the survey,which was the lowest among other companies. By contrast, there was a remarkable rise to approximately over 26% in the production time spent on manufacturing a vehicle by Ford ,which was followed by a slight decline to about 26% at the end of the period.

Looking at the chart, it is evident that in the first year of the survey,the production used to make a vehicle by Dalmler Chrysier was at 34%,2% higher than that of General Motors.In the following one year, the figure for Dalmler Chrysier decreased significantly to just under 32%,then increased slightly to nearly 32%, and finally dropped to under 30% in 2002.Similarly, the figure for general motors plummeted to about 24% over the period from 1998 to 2002.
