The average consumption of tea and coffee among four established countries in 2007 is examined.
Overall, the UK had the highest amount of tea consumed, while coffee consumption was lower. Germany’s consumption patterns for both beverages were relatively similar over the period.
Initially, Canada had approximately 8,000 tonnes of coffee compared to around 4,000 tonnes of tea. In the UK, the coffee consumption remained consistent with Canada’s, but the tea consumption was significantly higher at around 13,000 tonnes.
On the other hand, in the USA, the coffee consumption was about 7,000 tonnes, while tea consumption saw an increase of 2,000 tonnes. Lastly, Germany imported nearly 6,000 tonnes of tea and introduced about 5,000 tonnes of coffee.
