A closer look at the data reveals that facebook reached its peak in 2016 as the average spent time on the platform was over 25 minutes. later on, the spent time on the app started to bottom out year by year and dropped to less than 10 minutes in 2020.
Twitter has never reached less than 20 minutes a day. Moreover, the duration of using the app grew up each year and went to nearly one hour by 2020.
Comparing to other social media, Instagram never remained steady. In 2016 users spent less than half an hour on the app. But a year later, it reached a peak of 45 minutes of usage. then it dropped down again to 30 minutes. later in 2019 it dipped to just 15 minutes and then rose sharply up to 35 minutes in 2020.
In 2016 snapchat reached no more than 10 minutes of using. But it started to increase in the next year and reached the all time high of nearly one hourin 2019. However, the trend dramatically collapsed just to the duration of 15 minutes.
