Overall, the data clearly indicate that area with lowest percentage was Africa while the opposite of this area the highest percentage observed in North America. All areas’ percentage steadly increased by all of the period.
In 1950, the percentage of population living in urbanized regions in Asia was more than percentage of Africa for 1% only, with 17%. Europe’s percentage in the same area was triple of percentage of Asia. Latin America/Caribean, North America and Oceania observed 42%, 64% and 62% following the aforementioned order.
In 2007, Africa observed 37% ,which less than percentage of urban population in Asia for 4% ,while other areas’ urban population made up significant ~70%, with the highest percentage equal to 79% by North America. In 2050, the percentage of African urban population will make up 62% ,which lags behind Asia by 4%. In Latin America/Caribean and North America nearly 90% of population will live in cities by 2050. Europe and Oceania’s percentage of urban population will rise for 12% and 5%, with 84% and 76%.
