The data display the differences between incomes in different cities in the United Kingdom. The unit used is pound sterling and five English, as well as two Scottish cities have been compared. Although there is a big gap between London and other cities, differences between smaller cities did not exceed about two thousand pounds.
In the first place is the capital city, London, with an average pay of just over thirty three thousand, followed by Cambridge with short below thirty thousand. However, it is important to mention that sample sizes were significantly bigger in London, with almost fifty one thousand surveyed individuals, whereas in other cities, around 17 times less people where taken into consideration.
Both Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham, as well as both Scottish cities Edinburgh and Glasgow, display a similar average pay of between twenty five and twenty eight thousand pounds. Although Cambridge is in second place, only a bit over two thousand people were a part of the survey, compared to other cities that had up to twice more samples.
Overall, London is certainly in the lead in the United Kingdom, while residents of other cities earn less money. Although this indicates a higher wage in the capital, the differing sample size could have also affected the results.
