Looking at the table in more detail, the majority of British holiday goers opted to stay in hotels in 2010 and this was highest in England, which accounted for 55%, almost twofold the percentage of those who chose self-catering in this country. Self-catering was the second most welcomed choice of accommodation in three out of four countries, namely England, Scotland and Wales, at roughly 30%, while this was only around 10% in Northern Ireland
