In general, the figure for male teenagers was higher than that for female in most of pastime activities, apart from listening to music, which figure for both genders were identical. Notably, shopping was the most appealing activity of boys while music was the preference of female teens.
Regarding sports and shopping, it is obvious that the figure reported by male juveniles was significantly higher than that for female teenagers. Initially, the most exciting pastime activity for boys in Canada was shopping, peaking at about 34% in 2020. Meanwhile, the data for girls who was fascinated by shopping stood at only 6%. Furthermore, a quarter of boys found sports exciting, which was 2.5 times higher than the proportion of female adolescents who enjoyed sports, representing 10%.
Turning to remaining features, the percentage of boys and girls who were eager to listen to music was equal, at 19%. Finally, 17% of male teenagers were excited to engage in computer games, which was 3% higher than the percentage of girls.
