This bar chart illustrates the quantity of employed individuals in terms of different occupational categories and gender (male and female) in Australia in the previous year.
In general, the first notable feature is that there were significantly larger gender gaps in some careers or positions, and males dominated these occupations. In contrast, some jobs are slightly more favorable for women than men. Another evident feature is that regardless of sex, most Australians had clerical jobs, whereas, labourers were in total the least chosen occupations.
First of all, huge gender disparity could be witnessed in managers, tradespeople, and production, which were constituted by mainly males. For example, for managers, there were about 400 thousand males than females at this position. However, some other occupations experienced less gender gap, and professionals serve as the prime example. For professionals, there were approximately 50 thousand more females than males.
On the other hand, regardless of gender, it appeared that most of Australians had a clerical job, with a total of about 1900 thousand people taking this job. In stark contrast, only roughly 650 thousand citizens in Australia were labourers.
