The chart illustrates the proportions of male and female residents of Australia doing regular physical exercise in various age groups in 2010.
Overall, the percentages of women doing physical activity in five out of six age groups were higher than the percentages of men, except for the age group of 15 to 24, where the number of male citizens was more advanced than female.
In the male section, there was 52.8% of people aged from 15 to 24 did exercises regularly, making it the highest number compared to the remaining age ranges. The numbers were slightly slower for 55-64 and 65 and over age groups, with 45.1% to 46.7%. These number continued to drop among men who aged 25 to 34 and 45 to 54, which were 42.2% to 43.1%. The percentage was the lowest for male in early middle age, at only 39.5%.
There were 53.3% of female individuals aged from 45 to 54 doing regular physical activity, the highest number among the figures for the remaining age brackets. Followed closely behind was the age range of 55 to 64 and 35 to 44 at 53% and 52.5%. The rate was slightly lower for women in the age of 25 to 34 with 48.9%, while 47.7% and 47.1% of female citizens in 15-24 and 65 and over age range doing exercise regularly.
