Overall, Australian women outnumbered Australian men in most middle-aged group categories, while younger age groups had more active male citizens. The oldest age group had nearly equal rate of physically active males and females
15-24 age bracket had the highest proportion of male citizens who were engaged in physical activities at 52.8% while females made up 47.7%. The 65 and above age group showed a nearly similar figures, of 46.7% males and 47.1% females.
In contrast, age groups from 25 to 64 had more actively involved females than males. 35-44 age group had the lowest proportion of active men at 39.5%, while women made up 52.5%. 45-54 age bracket showed a slightly higher figures, with female citizens recorded the highest percentage of 53.3%, while males made up 43.1%. 55-64 aged citizens reported similar figures of 45.1% actively involved males and 53% females.
