In 1980, the number of men participating in Apple accounted for about 15%, which is higher than IBM and Microsoft, at 2% and 8%, respectively. However, in 1990, after a slight fluctuation, the percentage of all three companies almost had the same figures, at 13%.
After that five years, while IBM and Apple underwent a significant increase, at 25 % and 10%, respectively, Microsoft still maintained a lower percentage. Until 2010, the figures of Microsoft, at 45%, first surpassed Apple, at 25%. Along with that, the percentage of men in senior development positions in IBM peaked at 60% in 2010.
