The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of four different kinds of activities attended by Japanese children in three different age groups in 2018.
Overall, it is obvious that the percentage of Japanese children spent time on Reading and Riding the bike experienced an upward trend, while the opposite was true in that of Japanese children spent time on Watching TV and Playing computer games. Moreover, the quantity of children in Japan taking part in Watching TV was the highest figure in 2018.
Looking at the bar chart, the proportion of Japanese young children aged 5 to 8 topped the list with nearly 90% compared to 80% of children aged 9 to 11 and 12 to 16. The rate of children aged 5 to 8 taking part in Playing computer games was slightly higher than that in Japan aged 9 to 11, at 60% and 50% respectively. The percentage of Japanese teenagers was the lowest figure of children playing computer games, at exactly 40% in 2018.
Regarding to subsequent activities, the propotion of Japanese children aged 5 to 8 spent time Reading was slightly lower than that of Japanese children aged 9 to 11 and 12 and 16 (both 65%), at above 62% and 65% respectively. The quantity of young children aged 5 to 8 taking part in Riding the bike was 63%, while that of old children aged 9 to 11 was 62%. The figure for Japanese teenagers was the highest figure in Riding the bike activities, at above 80%.
