The bar chart shows the total number of telephone call minutes in Australia between 2001 and 2008. The calls are divided into three categories: local, national and international, and mobiles.

Overall, local calls were the most popular in all years, with a peak in 2005. In contrast, mobile calls had the lowest numbers, but they increased a lot over the period. National and international calls also went up slowly.

In 2001, local calls were about 72 billion minutes, and they increased to a high point of 90 billion in 2005. After that, they started to fall and returned to 72 billion in 2008. National and international calls started at 38 billion and increased every year to reach 61 billion in 2008.

Mobile calls were very low in 2001, only 2 billion minutes. However, they grew each year and reached 46 billion minutes in 2008. This was a big increase compared to the beginning.
