The chart demonstrates data about the the total number of minutes (in billions) spent on the calls in Australia from 2001 to 2008. There are three types of telephone calls: local – landline, national and international – landline, and mobile (all calls).
Overall, local landlines had the highest values over 7 years, and had a decrease returning to its initial numbers, meanwhile mobile calls were the least used. National and international landlines went up gradually.
In the beginning, local landline numbers were at 72. These values hit at about 90 in 2005; however, the amount of minutes went down and dipped to 72 billion once more in 2008. Conversely, mobile type was at the lowest values of 2 billion in 2001. Its numbers went up gradually over the period and reached around 46 billion in 2008.
National and international landlines were at about 38 in the beginning, and had a gradual growth as well as mobile calls type. By the end of the period, it had about 61 and almost matched up with local landlines.
