The data illustrate the total amount of billion minutes spent on telephone calls per category over the period of 8 years in Australia.
It is clear that by far the most minutes are spent on calls overall in 2008, with the Local calls constituting the majority of them. By contrast, the least was allocated in 2001, with almost a negligible amount of Mobile calls.
Delving into more details, it is self-evident that the usage of Mobile calls has slowly but progressively improved over time, reaching its lowest in 2001 and almost reaching the National & International category by 2008, with a figure of 46 billion minutes and making up 43 times the starting figure.
The National & International category calls rose from 38 billion minutes to their peak in 2008, with the amount of 61 billion minutes. However, it was more or less stable throughout the timeframe displayed.
Unquestionably the highest, being Local calls starting with the number of 72 billion minutes, and keeping it by the end of the period with some slight fluctuation, hitting its peak in 2005 with 90 billion minutes.
