Overall, rock and pop genres were popular among American. Moreover, elderlies over 58-year-old was the group that purchased all kinds of music the most in the bar chart.
According to the given chart, both rock and pop genres were teens and young adults’ favorite in the year. Around 4 million copies of rock genre were sold for those two groups while just under 5 million copies of pop genre were bought by teens from 16 to 22 years old, and about 3,5 million of that were bought by 23-31 age group. However, those two kinds of music were not being older units’ choices. There were just over 3 million sales of rock music recording for the mid-aged adults while the amount of selling pop music recordings of this group was a million lower. Those two data in mid-adults 46 to 57-year-old followed the same pattern while the oldest age group had that two selling number around 3 million copies.
Moving to the others genres. The three last age groups enjoyed jazz and classical music than adolescent and young-adults. Teen group 16-22-year-old stood in the lowest rank for buying only around 2 million recordings of those two kinds of music. Similar pattern to the older age group from 23 to 31-year-old, however, they bought more than the previous unit, which was over 2,5 to 3 million recordings. Although the two next groups also bought those two music genres recordings between 2 to 3 million copies, they bought more than previous groups in general. Finally, classical music seems to be senior citizens’ favorite with about 4,5 million copies were sold to this group, which is the highest number of sales of this genre among 5 units.
