Overall, using email and sending text or instant messages were the most common online activities among both genders, while online education and job hunting were the least popular. In most categories, females recorded slightly higher figures than males, although men were more active in online education and health research.
Regarding the most common activities, approximately 88% of women used email, compared with around 83% of men. Similarly, text or instant messaging was used by about 84% of females and 82% of males. Social networking was also highly popular, accounting for nearly 78% of women and roughly 68% of men. In addition, internet banking attracted over 75% of female users, which was marginally higher than the figure for males.
As for entertainment-related activities, around 53% of women streamed videos or music, compared to about 47% of men. In contrast, health research was considerably more popular among females, at roughly 61%, whereas only about 34% of males engaged in this activity. Finally, online education and job hunting had the lowest participation rates, with figures remaining below 30% for both genders.
