The bar chart illustrates the proportion of 18-20-year-old-males-and-females in an urban who engaged in five different sports, namely basketball, cycling, football, swimming and hockey, in a month in 2015.
Overall, while the percentage of males playing football was highest, the simillar was true for the proportion of females participating cycling. Furthermore, cycling recoreded the lowest gap between these two figures.
In football, the figure for males was highest and nearly five times as high as that of females, at above 50% for the former and just under 15% for the latter. By contrast, the percentage of males cycling was slightly lowest than that figure for females, constituting for 35% and 40% relatively.
The same trend was seen in basketball and hockey, compared to football, the figure for males playing these sports was higher than that of females, at just under 35%, 10% for the former and above 10%, about 2,5% for the latter. The reverse was witnessed in swimming, the proportion of men was lowest than that of women with 15%, at 20% and 35% relatively.
