Overall, people were more likely to attend the popular music events than the 2 other types.
Popular music attracted over one third of the 15 -24 age groups with 38%, followed by 33% of 35 – 44 age groups and 27% of the 25-34 age groups. But for older people, the percentages of people attending popular music events were much smaller, with 13% for people from 45 to 54 and 5% for people over 55.
In terms of opera events, the 35 – 44 age groups had the highest percentage with 25%. The figures for 4 other age groups 15-24, 25-34, 55+ and 45-34 were quite similar with around 15%. Meanwhile, the classical music events only attracted 8% of the 25-34 and 55+ age groups. The data for 3 other age brackets 15 -24, 35-44 and 44-54 were slightly bigger, with 11%, 11% and 1-% respectively.
