The bar chart compares two different age groups in Europe and USA based on their working period in one job between 1985 and 2005. Data is presented in years.
From an overall perspective, it is apparent that average job tenure was highest in Europe in both years, while the reverse is true for USA, which lagged behind with a small margin. Of particular note is the year 1985, when people worked in one job longer.
In 1985, workers from 25 to 30 ages worked in one job approximately 5 years in Europe before declining to 4 years until 2005. This figure for USA made up 4 years in the initial year, slightly higher than that of in 2005 at 3 years.
In terms of age group 35-45, Europe took the lead with an impressive 7 years job tenture in 1985, it then experienced a downward trajectory at 6 years after two decades. USA mirrored this downward trend. Beginning at about 6 years, average job tenture accounted for 5 years by the conclusion of the period.
