Overall, air accounted for the highest CO2 emisssions, while coaches were the lowest among all transport forms. Moreover, the maximum EU funds was spent on roads, whereas intermodal, inland waterway, and airports were the lowest categories.
Looking at the details, the maximum CO2 emissions were in the air, with around 370 grams per passenger, followed by passenger cars, with approximately 130 grams. CO2 emissions in buses stood at about 60 grams. In addition, the figures for maritime and rail categories were identical, with exactly 50 grams for each. Coaches received below 50 grams, the lowest figure among all categories.
When it comes to the percentage of EU funds, roads were the dominant category, with more than half of the total number, 52%. Railways and public transport followed behind, with 31% and 10%, respectively. The numbers of ports and unkown forms of transport were the same, with 2% for each. The lowest figure was seen in intermodal, inland waterway, and airports transports, with 1% for each.
