It can be seen that the percentage of total waste that was removed by landfill methods of Toronto was most significant with about 75%, which was followed by that of Amman with near 50%. 30% was the figure for trash in landfill in Madrid, which was double that of Kuala Lumpur with 15%. In addition, the percentage of rubbish that was disposed of by incineration in Toronto was only 10%, which was one fourth that of Madrid and Amman with approximately 40% and one fifth that of Kuala Lumpur with about 50%.
The proportion of garbage in recycling techniques in Toronto and Amman was about 10%, while that of Madrid and Kuala Lumpur was under 20%. The proportion of dust in both four cities ranged from 0 to 10%.
