Overall, the number of male and females who failed to do exercices increased with advancement in age. Additionally, there were more women than men who did not exercise in all the age groups.
To begin with, between 18 and 24 years, the gentlemen who did not undertake vigorous activities were close to 12 % whereas the rate of the ladies was slightly higher, at about 18%. From 25 to 34 years, the proportion of men was slightly over 20% while that of women remained high at nearly 25%.
Meanwhile, those with 45 to 54 years recorded a higher portion of females who were reluctant to keep fit at around 37% unlike their male counterparts who were only approximately 32%. Notably, the elderly above the age of 55 disliked exercising with about 36% of men and close to 45% of women not taking part in it, this was the highest ratio among all the age groups.
