The graph above illustrates the wind-generated energy production in four different countries over a 15-year period from 1985 to 2000.
Overall, the United States had the highest energy production numbers. However, it is evident that Denmark showed a remarkable increase in wind energy generation speed.
The United States began its energy generation in 1985 at 1200 megawatts. By 1990, it peaked at over 1600 megawatts. The energy production remained consistent in 1995 and ranged between 1400 to 1600 megawatts by 2000.
Both India and Denmark started at around 200 megawatts of energy in 1985. After 5 years, India increased to 400 megawatts while Denmark’s capacity grew substantially to 1200 megawatts. By 1995, India reached 800 megawatts, whereas Denmark exceeded 1600 megawatts. In 2000, Denmark produced over 1600 megawatts compared to India’s 1200 megawatts.
Germany initiated its wind energy production at 400 megawatts in 1985, which increased to over 600 megawatts by 1990. After another 5 years, Germany was generating 800 megawatts, and by 2000, the production surpassed 800 megawatts.
