The bar chart compare the values of aid offered by 6 developed countries to developing nations in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Overall, it is evident that the United States was the largest donor of all, whilst Germany was the only nation that the amount of aid donated consistently followed an upward trend. Furthermore, the US, the UK and Japan witnessed a similar trend in the fluctuation of the value of assistance given to developing nations.
Specifically, the US contributed around 20 billion in aid to developing countries in 2008, which dropped to about 19.8 billion, then increased to nearly 25 billion in 2010. Similarly, Britain donated more than 12 billion dollars, which then dropped by a minuscule amount, then rose again to about 13 billion dollars. The same was true with Japan, as the 2008 figure was similar to that of the UK in the same year, but then fell to 10 billion in 2009, before increased back to around the 2008 amount.
Regarding other nations, Germany’s 2008 donation figure was only 10 billion, but significantly increased to 15 billion in 2010. The Netherlands’ and Sweden’s figures were equal throughout the time period and below 10 billion.
