The bar chart shows how young Europeans expect five different areas to change in the next 20 years.
Overall, it is expected that people communication will see the most improvement, while air quality is predicted to improve the least. People communication is also the only area where improvements are expected to be greater than the percentage of people expecting it to get worse.
For people communication, around 63% of young Europeans expect it to improve, and 37% think it will get worse. In contrast, food quality is expected to improve for 47% of people, but 53% believe it will get worse. Health is expected to improve for 40% of people, with the remaining 60% anticipating a decline.
Significant differences are foreseen for water quality, with 40% expecting improvement and 60% expecting it to worsen. Similarly, air quality is only expected to improve for about 22% of young people, while a much larger proportion, 78%, predict it will deteriorate.
