Overall, the most substantial growth recorded in the Wales, followed by computing, whereas farming and accounting experienced a slight decline over the period. However, the number of people employed in nursing remained unchanged.
At the beginning of the period, the count of people employed in sales stood at approximately 155,000, before reaching a peak of 165,000 workers by 2008. A similar trend was in the computing, it initially had about 59.000 employed people in 2001. After that, the number of employed workers jumped by 20.000.
By contrast, the count of employed people in the accounting followed a slight decline, starting with approximately 65.000 and ending with almost 60.000 workers. The farming followed a similar trajectories, it stood at around 30.000 employees in 2001, and bucked foregoing trend by 10.000 workers at the end of the period.
Meanwhile, the figure for employed people in the nursing stood at around 59.500 in 2001, and finished with over 60.000 workers in 2008.
