The bar chart demonstrates the amount of students of higher educations in four fields of study in Germany in the years 2000 and 2020. The table illustrates the percentage of women graduates in each studies for the same periods.
Overall, it is clear that Business was dominating in both periods and the field of arts was the least preferred. While female students chose arts mostly in each years and engineering wasn’t popular as the arts.
Engineering wasn’t the most popular among all fields of studies. In 2000 this field was 60k of students were studied, after 2 decades the preference of studying in engineering increased until 95k. The business was the leader by showing how many graduates studying there. The pinnacle of business field was 130k of graduates. Medicine was chosen less even engineering with the about 35k of students in 2000 and 50k students in 2020. The least popular field was arts in both periods with the worst results. In 2000 30k students were studying and in 2020 the amount of graduates increased until 40k.
Regarding to female graduates, the field of engineering showed that this trend was chosen by the least number of students. In 2000 this field was chosen by 18% of women graduates and in 2020 the preference increased by 9%. In the business studies the proportion of female studied there were equal to 42% in 2000. After 2 decades the amount of graduates grew up to 51%. Medicine was preferred more than engineering and business studies by women. The most of the female graduates were studying in arts in both periods. In second period the difference between the first year was 9%.
