Furthermore, the number of students in medicine and art fields resembled each other closely, accounting for 50k and 40k at the end of the period.
Regarding the pie chart, arts field was the most popular choice among female students, standing at 61% and 68% in both years. In 2000, the number of female students in medicine field was 13% higher than business, accounting for 55%, before increasing to 64% in 2020. The figure for business field rose from 42% to 51% in 2020. The least preferred field among others was engineering, which accounted for 18% in 2000 and 27% in 2020.
