The pictorial bar chart delineates the proportion of a drug company’s total sales in four areas between 2002 and 2006. Overall, the figures for Europe and Africa were always the most substantial during the time examined. Moreover, while the proportion in South America and North America experienced a decrease, the opposite was evidenced in the Asia region.
Concerning 2002, the highest data was recorded in Europe and Africa, composing 44%, more than nearly 10% compared to the figure in North America. At the same time, the percentage of total sales in Asia and South America was negligibly comparable, constituting around a tenth of the total, which was less than four times in comparison with that in Europe and Africa. In 2004, the statistics in Europe and Africa peaked at approximately 50%.
Regarding the remaining periods, in 2006, the proportion of total sales in Europe and Africa witnessed a mild decline, comprising 40%, which still maintained the first rank. Similarly, the data in North America considerably decreased, decreasing by 14% from 35% to 21%. By contrast, the figure in the Asia region nearly doubled, composing 28% in 2006. Looking at the South Africa area, despite certain fluctuations, in 2006, this region registered identical data with the initial figure.
