The bar charts give information about the proportion of released films and the ticket sales of four genres between 1996 and 2000. Overall, the production of drama movies was consistently dominant, at par with comedy in ticket sales. Conversely, romance showed the smallest numbers in both spheres and years.
In 1996, drama demonstrated a whopping rise to 35, up from just above 25, having by far the largest number in both years in the chart. This was followed by the comedy genre, growing from 20 to 25 over the four years. Fantasy, which also saw an increase of about 5, ranked third. By contrast, romance was the only category that stayed stable at 6 produced films.
When it comes to selling tickets, the highest number was recorded for comedy at 20, which increased to 23 in 2000, while drama followed closely with 16 and 17 in both years. From a negligible amount in 1996, the fantasy surged to well over 5, respectively. The figure for romance showed downward trends, declining from 5 to just 2 in four years.
