The bar chart compares families which are owning cars in Europe between 1971 and 2001.
Overall, in the first 10 years the number of households did not own automobile made up the highest place in the chart, however between 1991 and 2001 most families owned a car. In 30 years of the period, the percentage of households that had cars fluctuated.
In 1971, the families with 2 automobile were slightly lower than families but did not own car about 12%. 10 years later, the percentage of households owned 1 car still slightly less than the proportion of families that did not have car was 11%. Turning to households that owned 2 cars, it saw a dramatically change namely increased from 16% to 28%.
In 1991, there was a rocket in percentage of households owned 1 car, it reached 42% which was 11% higher than 10 years ago. It was also significantly higher than the percentage of families did not have car at 12%. Unfortunately, it dropped down in the next 10 years but it was a minimal number and still higher than households that not owned automobile 11%. From 1981 to 1991, the percentage of households that with 2 cars dropped 8%, however it was increased in 2001 and reached the as same rate as 1981.
