The bar chart provides information on the share of the population in the United Kingdom, classified by age, who have no educational qualifications in 2009. Overall, it is clear that the proportion of people and their age increased simultaneously. In addition, women generally witnessed higher figures than men in the older age groups, while the differences between genders among younger people were relatively small.
In the younger age categories, namely those aged 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, and 30-39, the percentages of individuals without qualifications were comparatively low. Among 17-19-year-olds, roughly 7% of men lacked qualifications, compared with around 6% of women. A similar pattern was recorded in the 20-24 age group, where males slightly outnumbered females. To come with 25-39 age group, both women and men undergone the identical share, which was 7%.
By contrast, much higher percentages were recorded in the older age groups. In the 40-49 category, the proportion of women without qualifications was about 11%, which was the greater percentage than males. As for figures of men, their disqualification proportion was 10%. The highest levels were seen among those aged 50-59/64, with roughly 20% of women having no qualifications, compared with approximately 17% of men.
