As is presented in the graph, the part of the population that eats five portions of vegetables and fruits a day shows gradual rise from 2001 to 2006 and then slight decline for 2007 and 2008. Men appear to largest percentage consumers of fruits and vegetables for all years represented in the chart with a maximum of around 33% in 2006. In contrast, the percentage children appears to lowest amongst all groups but it also shows the most noticeable growth of 14% in the given duration.
For percentage of men, there is a steady increase from close to 21% in 2001 to approximately 33% in 2006, and then a sudden but dropped in 2007 and 2008. Whereas the percentage women and children started with a levelled out consumption, of nearly 11% and 17% respectively, till 2003 and then a dramatic increase of 11% and 14% up to 2006. After which percentage for women plateaued at 26-27% in 2007 and 2008. While percentage of children continued to increase till 2007 to 26% and then went down like the others groups in 2008.
Based on the graph we can summarize that over the years the population of UK that consumes five portions of vegetables and fruits a day has increased.
