The most dramatic fall was witnessed in the Chinese population. While the figure made up over 23% of the world’s population in 1950, it fell to just 20% in 2002. Americans accounted up for only over 7% of the total population during 1950, and this number declined by 2% during the following 53 years. Additionally, according to the predicted statistics this percentage will stay the same in 2050.
