The maps illustrate how the Riverside Park has changed between 2010 and now.
Overall, the park has become more entertaining and visitor-friendly, with the addition of swings, a cafe, and a hotel. Additionally, the layout of road has changed and they have built a new car park and a cycle path.
The Riverside Park used to be rather empty in 2010. While trees occupied the south west, there was a Heritage Railway that run from the south east to the north east. There was a walking path that surrounded the park and was connected to both the railway and a road inside the park. The road inside the park was divided into two paths that run from the south to the west and east, respectively. The first path was connected to three roundabouts and inside these, there were three car parks. Next to the car park in the middle, a toilet was located. The second path was connected to one big roundabout, adjacent to which is another toilet. The third toilet was situated between a walk path and the third parking lot. Finally, at the top of the map, there was a river, which runs from the north west to the north east.
Since then, the park has changed considerably. While trees, a river, the railway, a walking path, tree toilets, car parks in the first path of the road remained intact, the second path in the road has been removed and instead, that big roundabout has been connected to the first path. In addition to this, to the left of the big roundabout, a new car park, to the right, a hotel have been constructed. Between two toilets, three swings have been added. Also, a new cafe has been built between a new car park and a walking path. Finally, a new cycle path has been added below the river.
