The bar chart shows the population of selected European countries in 2013 and 2021.
The bar chart compares the amount of people living in seven European countries in the scale of millions between the years 2013 and 2021. The order in which each country appears in the chart is as follows, from left to right: Germany, Spain , France, Croatia, Italy, Poland and Portugal.
Generally, the changes in population were relatively minor between the two years analyzed for all countries shown in the chart. However, the first three countries – Germany, Spain and France – are the only ones that had an increase in their citizens. Meanwhile, the rest of them has shown a decrease in 2021.
In 2013, Germany had 80,6 million people living within its borders and, in 2021, this number grew to 83,2 million – holding its place as the most populous country in the chart in both years. In the same vein, France’s and Spain’s population has grown between the same period, respectively 65,8 million to 67,7 million and 46,6 million to 47,4 million.
Meanwhile, Italy, the third most populous country on the chart, had the number of its inhabitants shrink from 60,2 million in 2013 to 59,1 million in 2021. Poland and Croatia had a decrease in 0,3 million in the population and Portugal in 0,2.
